A Mostly Fractured Take On Current Events

“Humor tends to be topical, because the effect you’re striving for is a fast, involuntary thing. Humor has to work immediately; it has to hit little trip wires .” (P.J. O’Rourke)

I spent 15 years in school dreading the act of writing. I think it’s because my teachers focused too much time on boring things like syntax. And gerunds. Things I didn’t care about and had no intention of ever caring about. At the time, I was certain that writing was probably the “dumbest thing ever.” Yet here I am, several years removed from school…writing. And on my own free will. How did this happen? Despite my best efforts to sidestep grammatical instruction from my fourth grade teacher, some of the information actually stuck. Ms. Tobb is having the last laugh, wherever she is.

I write about what interests me. Usually this involves something funny in the news. Thankfully, I don’t have to look very hard to find it.  Enjoy the stories!
